About Hoshin
Ho Shin means defense in Korean. The dojo was first opened by Craig Cheviar over 30 years ago. What started as an after-school program grew into a community.
After several years, the dojo shifted hands, and Doug Coberly became the next instructor. The school moved several times under his care until it found its home in Walden. For 15 years he carried the torch and introduced the new generation to martial arts.
In 2020, the dojo was passed to the capable hands of Trevor Hurst who had been a student at the school for 21 years. Under his watchful eye, the newest generation of students can learn the art.
